From the principal Term 3 Week 3

Dear Parents, Carers and members of the community

It is with great pleasure and excitement that I write to you as the new permanent Principal of the wonder- ful Quinns Beach Primary School for the first time. I have spent the last week getting to know the lovely students and staff, and have been fortunate to meet some of the parents and families. I have been in all classrooms regularly last week and out there at play time. Something that I will continue to do as regular practice. It is clear from my conversations with the staff at Quinns Beach that there already exists a strong focus on the wellbeing of the students and families, as well as each other. Something I value very genuine- ly.

My role moving forward is to work with the School Board, leadership team, staff and wider community to continue the great work that has occurred previously and add value to the strong plans and processes that are in place. I also extend a warm welcome to the new students and families who have joined us this term. I look forward to meeting you all. I encourage you all to stop and say hello if you see me around the school.

Transition to New Normal

Change can be hard. Thanks to the Quinns community for supporting the school over the last six months especially. Thank you very much to Mr Carmody for the great job has done as Principal over the last six months. Also to Ms Hodge, Mr Sweet and Mrs Horncastle for their valued role. They, along with all staff, have helped make my transition to Quinns Beach smooth. Our aim as a school is to buckle down and get to work on maintaining a safe, supportive and engaging learning environment, where students are at the heart of our school.

Positive Behaviour

I know it’s only been a week and a bit, but the front office has been inundated with students displaying positive behaviour aligned to our 4 pillars. Personally, it has been great to see students coming to the office with ‘Goldie’s’ and talking to me with pride about their success.

Crazy Sock Day on Friday

Thank you to the P&C group for organising Crazy Sock Day. Lucky for me, I have a plethora of socks to choose from. Silly socks will be available for purchase at the uniform shop on Wednesday and Thursday 8.15am-8.40am until the Friday, 6th of August. Thank you to Nicki Oakes and the P&C.

Book Week and Fair

I look forward to seeing how Book Week unfolds in week 5. A reminder that there is a book parade on Tuesday morning, where students are being encouraged to dress up as their favourite book character. I look forward to seeing all the creative costumes!

Regards

Taylor Webb Principal
