Principals Message

Dear Quinns Beach Primary School Families,

What a year 2024 has been! Thank you to our school community- students, staff, P&C, School Board and our families for all their contributions and hard work. It has been another busy year with plenty to celebrate.

We had many incredible P and C events occurring throughout the year. The Neon Disco was an absolute highlight, our school community raised an impressive amount over the course of the school year through our P and C fundraising events. The P and C have generously donated to the building of our new ship playground which our students are now enjoying.

We had sports carnivals and interschool events. A particular mention to the Athletics Interschool which we won overall, taking home the shield for Quinns Beach PS!

We had a variety of before school and lunch clubs organised by our staff. Our students thoroughly enjoyed having lots of options to choose from. We continued into our second year of Reading STARS with our Year 1 and 2 students with support of the Year 5 and 6 mentors. And of course, our Reading café which continued seeing lots of families come to read on Thursday and Friday mornings. Don’t forget to keep reading over the summer break!!

We commenced The Resilience Project to support our school community in health and wellbeing. The Resilience Project focuses on the principles of GEM – gratitude, empathy and mindfulness along with emotion literacy.

We changed our STAR reward system this year to Block Rewards which allowed for timelier and age-appropriate rewards for each of the blocks. Rewards included free dress, teddy bear picnics, and games afternoons to name a few.

We also reviewed, consulted and developed a new school business plan for 2025-2027. Thank you to everyone who was involved. The final copy of the plan will be ready for the beginning of next year.

In between all these wonderful initiatives and events, our students engaged in a range of learning programs, and I would like to acknowledge all their efforts and achievements.

To end the year off, staff are busy preparing for handover and families will find out their child’s teacher for 2025 this Wednesday the 11th of December.

Some Goodbyes…

Mrs Mechler and Mrs Gray are heading off into retirement and we wish them all the best for this new chapter in their lives. Ms Anthony is off on annual leave. We hope you have a wonderful year off Ms Anthony and enjoy some relaxation and travel. We will see you in 2026. We say goodbye to Mr Carter, Mrs Riley and Ms Bell and we thank you for your contributions to Quinns Beach Primary School and wish you all the best in your endeavours.

As we end the school year, I wish you all a joyous Christmas and well-deserved break with your families. Merry Christmas!
