Dear Quinns Beach Primary School Families,
Wow it is Term 4 already! This year has certainly flown by and with few busy months ahead it will be Christmas before we know it.
We have lots of wonderful events planned for this term amongst our teaching and learning programs. Starting off the term with our Interschool Athletics Carnival in which our upper years students did an incredible job coming first overall. Go Quinns Beach!
We enjoyed Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) Awareness Day last Friday, the 18th, and Day for Daniel coming up on Friday 25th October. Please refer to Dojo for more information.
During Week 5 students have the opportunity to participate in a First Aid Week. St Johns will be spending the week with us at QBPS. Classes will be involved in a First Aid lesson followed by an ambulance tour.
During the term our new 2025 Kindergartens and current Year 6 students will be busy preparing for their transition to their new school. Information will continue to be shared with families as we work through the transitions.
To end the year off we will be holding a Christmas Picnic and Sing-along on December the 6th. Miss Porter and the P&C are busy preparing this and all the details will be out very soon.
Our Term 4 clubs are underway, and students are engaging in some fantastic opportunities run by our staff. Our dedicated Environmental Warriors club are busy gardening as they try and keep up with the warm and wet Kambarang weather!
If your child is in Year 1 or 2, please encourage them to attend our Reading Stars Club on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday each week to read with a Year 5 or 6 mentor. The library opens from 8am and provides 20min of one-to-one reading with your child. A great way to start the day! On Thursdays and Fridays our Reading Café is open to all families from K-6 to come and read a book together as a family. Library open from 8am.
Every child reading, every child succeeding.
The Resilience Project – Empathy
Did you know ….
80% of our happiness is derived from:
- Friendship.
- Health.
- Work fulfillment.
- Loving relationships.
- Spirituality.
When you do something kind for someone else your brain releases oxytocin. This makes you feel good too. Check out Martin Heppell from The Resilience Project talking about being kind and the benefits of kindness.
“Kindness is the greatest wealth of all. Small acts of kindness last longer than a lifetime” – Eddie Jaku (Author of ‘The Happiest Man on Earth’).
Have a great term everyone.
